Here we show that the same geometric structure can be more fundamentally understood as the intrinsic dipole moment of a single correlated state. Our derivation clarifies the local and global aspects of gauge invariance, the origin of the phase-gradient term, and its connection to the internal coherence structure of many-body correlations.
