Ramesh Babu","submitted_at":"2018-08-15T13:38:27Z","abstract_excerpt":"In this paper, we investigate the electronic band structure, lattice dynamics and electron-phonon interaction in $\\delta$-NbN, $\\varepsilon$-NbN and WC-NbN by performing systematic ab initio calculations based on DFT-GGA. The calculated electronic band structures show that all three polytypes are metallic with the Nb $d$-orbital dominated energy bands near the Fermi level ($E_F$). The calculated phonon dispersion relations of $\\delta$-NbN are in good agreement with neutron scattering experiments.
