Our theoretical model consists of a system of Markov chains in microscopic and macroscopic spatio-temporal landscapes, i.e., stochastic birth-death processes of cells in millimeter-scale colonies that incorporates a coarse-grained driving force to account for microscopic radiation induced damage.
