The two-dimensional gravity is derived from nonlinear Poincar{\\' e} algebra, which is the new Yang-Mills like formulation of the gravitational theory. As typical examples, we investigate $R^2$ gravity with dynamical torsion and generic form of 'dilaton' gravity.
