To counteract the bandwidth limitations caused by the high impedance of the junction and the parasitic capacitance intrinsic to any cryogenic system, silicon-germanium heterojunction bipolar transistors (SiGe HBTs) are used as cryogenic preamplifiers for the MTJs.
