First, a basic time-reversible geodesic algorithm is derived by discretizing the geodesic stationarity condition and implementing the constant potential energy constraint via standard Lagrangian multipliers. The basic NVU algorithm is tested by single-precision computer simulations of the Lennard-Jones liquid.
