The NPA approach uses state-dependent first-principles pseudopotentials from an `all-electron' DFT calculation with finite-$T$ XCF. It provides pair potentials, structure factors, the\n  `bound' and `free' states, as well as a mean ionization $\\bar{Z}$ unambiguously.
