The effective Lagrangian is characterized by a phenomenological density dependence for the $\\sigma$, $\\omega$ and $\\rho$ meson-nucleon vertex functions, adjusted to properties of nuclear matter and finite nuclei. Pairing correlations are described by the pairing part of the finite range Gogny interaction.
