We consider the simplest possibility for a model of particle dark matter in which dark matter has only gravitational interaction with the standard model sector. Even in such a case, it is known that the gravitational particle production in an expanding universe may lead to a correct relic abundance depending on the inflation scale and the mass of dark matter particle. We provide a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the gravitational particle production of fermionic and vectorial dark matter, and emphasize that particles which are much heavier than the Hubble parameter but lighter than inflaton can also be produced abundantly.

    hep-ph 2025-08 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Orbital motion of a space GW detector creates sideband patterns that differ between gravitational waves and ultralight dark matter, enabling discrimination by counting harmonics.

    physics.comp-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A 'spatially varying boost' algorithm assigns arbitrary, position-dependent bulk velocities to field initial data by composing local Lorentz boosts, demonstrated on solitons, Proca fields, and spin-1 wave dark matter.

  3. Distinguishing Monochromatic Signals in LISA and Taiji: Ultralight Dark Matter versus Gravitational Waves

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Null-response interferometric channels can separate monochromatic ultralight dark matter signals from gravitational waves in LISA and Taiji, most effectively at high frequencies.

  4. Light PIDM in Warped Extra Dimensions

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A UV-Dark-IR brane construction in warped 5D space allows light (MeV-TeV) purely gravitational dark matter to freeze in with TeV-scale reheating temperatures.

  5. Dark Photon Dark Matter from Quantum Fluctuations during Starobinsky Inflation

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Dark photons produced by quantum fluctuations during Starobinsky inflation must have a mass of 5.6–7.4 µeV to be all the dark matter.

  9. The Highest-Energy Neutrino Event Constrains Dark Matter-Neutrino Interactions

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

KM3-230213A limits dark matter-neutrino scattering to below about 1e-22 cm^2/GeV at 220 PeV, but most simple dark matter models are excluded by unitarity above MeV masses.

    astro-ph.CO 2025-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Two phenomenological dark matter creation rates can reproduce the accelerated expansion of the universe and fit current background data as well as or slightly better than LambdaCDM for some DESI-based data combinations.

  11. Massless limit of massive self-interacting vector fields

    hep-th 2025-05 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

For massive Proca fields with quartic self-interaction, the massless limit is not smooth: classical hyperbolicity loss persists at arbitrarily small mass, and the Vainshtein mechanism does not restore unitarity at sca...
