abstract
We analyze strongly lensed images in 8 galaxy clusters to measure their dark matter density profiles in the radial region between 10 kpc and 150 kpc, and use this to constrain the self-interaction cross section of dark matter (DM) particles. We infer the mass profiles of the central DM halos, bright central galaxies, key member galaxies, and DM subhalos for the member galaxies for all 8 clusters using the Qlens code. The inferred DM halo surface densities are fit to a self-interacting dark matter (SIDM) model, which allows us to constrain the self-interaction cross section over mass $\sigma$/m. When our full method is applied to mock data generated from two clusters in the Illustris-TNG simulation, we find results consistent with no dark matter self-interactions as expected. For the eight observed clusters with average relative velocities of $1458_{-81}^{+80}$ km/s, we infer $\sigma$/m = $0.082_{-0.021}^{+0.027}$ cm$^2$/g and $\sigma$/m < 0.13 cm$^2$/g at the 95% confidence level.

The diffraction-lensing interpretation of GW231123 with astrophysical priors
GW231123 is better fit by a lower-mass merger diffracted by an isolated ~1000 M_sun lens, but astrophysical priors and a frequentist rate estimate make this lensing interpretation unlikely.

MARVELously Dark: the density profile evolution of dwarf halos in velocity-dependent SIDM
In a new SIDM simulation of isolated dwarf halos, nine low-mass halos are core-collapsed, and inner density slope—rather than central density—best tracks collapse onset and matches analytic collapse-time predictions.

Pion dark matter in a $\theta$ vacuum: a thermal relic with sharp velocity-dependent self-interactions
A QCD-like dark sector with a theta vacuum and a dark photon portal can simultaneously reproduce the dark matter relic abundance and produce the sharply velocity-dependent self-interactions inferred from small-scale s...

The price for monopole dark matter
Dark matter can consist of 't Hooft-Polyakov monopoles in a dark SU(2) sector, but only in a narrow window with m_M ≳ 10^8 GeV, near-bound dark radiation, and possibly detectable gravitational waves.

Can a secluded self-interacting dark sector generate detectable gravitational waves?
In a secluded self-interacting dark sector with a dark U(1)' and dark radiation, existing Neff and Lyman-alpha limits remove nearly all gravitational-wave-detectable parameter space; one charge assignment keeps a smal...
