abstract
We summarize recent developments in the Standard-Model evaluation of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon $a_\mu$, both in the hadronic-light-by-light and hadronic-vacuum-polarization contributions. The current situation for the latter is puzzling as we are confronted with multiple discrepancies that are not yet understood. We present updated fits of a dispersive representation of the pion vector form factor to the new CMD-3 data set and quantify the tensions with the other high-statistics $e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-$ experiments in the contribution to $a_\mu$ in the energy range up to 1 GeV, as well as in the corresponding contribution to the intermediate Euclidean window.

Dispersive analysis of the pion vector form factor without zeros
Imposing the absence of complex zeros in the pion vector form factor reduces the dominant systematic uncertainty and makes the tensions between CMD-3 and other e+e- data sets appear sharper, including in the pion char...

Dispersion relation for hadronic light-by-light scattering: $\eta$ and $\eta'$ poles
A dispersive analysis of the eta and eta' transition form factors yields data-driven pole contributions to the muon g-2 of 14.7(9) x 10^-11 and 13.5(7) x 10^-11.

Global parametrizations of $\pi\pi$ scattering with dispersive constraints: Beyond the S0 wave
New global, dispersion-constrained parametrizations for the S2, P, D, F, and G pion-pion partial waves, valid to roughly 1.8 to 2.1 GeV.
