Linearised gravity has magnetic charges carried by (linearised) Kaluza-Klein monopoles. A gauge-invariant expression is found for these charges that is similar to Penrose's gauge-invariant expression for the ADM charges. A systematic search is made for other gauge-invariant charges.

  1. Gauge-invariant charges of the dual graviton

    hep-th 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The dual graviton theory admits gauge-invariant Penrose-type charges that refine the Noether charges, and under duality some charges stay magnetic in both descriptions while others stay electric in both.

  2. On the thermodynamics of the black holes of the Cano-Ruip\'erez 4-dimensional string effective action

    hep-th 2024-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The paper derives a Smarr formula and no-hair theorems for string-corrected black holes, with the string length acting as a thermodynamic variable.
