abstract

We study worldsheet sphere amplitudes, in the RNS formalism, in superstring theory on $\text{AdS}_3\times X$ with pure NS-NS flux using the near-boundary approximation. By computing a number of amplitudes at low-lying spectral flow, we deduce a candidate for a dual CFT for generic $X$. Specialising to $X={\rm S^3}\times \mathbb{T}^4$ and with minimal NS-NS flux, i.e., to the tensionless limit, we explore the effect of the interaction term which we ignore in the near-boundary consideration. We show that amplitudes in the tensionless superstring theory on $\rm AdS_3\times S^3\times\mathbb{T}^4$ do not receive perturbative contributions from such an interaction term.

  1. Tensionless strings on $AdS_3 \times S^3 \times S^3 \times S^1$

    hep-th 2024-11 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

String theory on AdS3×S3×S3×S1 with two units of flux on each sphere is conjectured to equal the symmetric orbifold of two bosons and eight free fermions.

  2. On the CFT dual of superstring on AdS$_3$

    hep-th 2025-04 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

This paper verifies, at second order in conformal perturbation theory, that the proposed marginal deformation of a symmetric orbifold CFT reproduces the residues of three-point superstring correlators on AdS3 x S3 x T4.

  3. Symmetric orbifold OPE from string theory

    hep-th 2025-04 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The worldsheet OPE of delta-function vertex operators in AdS3 string theory captures the longest single-cycle term of the symmetric orbifold OPE, with shorter cycles generated by screening operators.
