Large-scale skymapping with COMPTEL using the full survey database presents challenging problems on account of the complex response and time-variable background. A new approach which attempts to address some of these problems is described, in which the information about each observation is preserved throughout the analysis. In this method, a maximum-entropy algorithm is used to determine image and background simultaneously. Because of the extreme computing requirements, the method has been implemented on a parallel computer, which brings large gains since the response computation is fully parallelizable. The zero level is left undetermined in this method. Results using data from 7 years of COMPTEL data are presented.

  1. Neutrino lines and photon continua from cascade dark matter decay

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

In cascade dark-matter decay, neutrino-line searches can beat gamma-ray limits whenever the intermediate mediator is long-lived enough to suppress the photon flux.

  2. Constraining light dark matter in vector-scalar portals with COSI and AMEGO-X

    hep-ph 2025-08 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Projects COSI and AMEGO-X sensitivities to sub-GeV DM in vector-scalar portals, finding COSI leading in some regions beyond CMB limits and AMEGO-X covering most continuum cases.

  3. Searching for Dark Matter with MeVCube

    hep-ph 2025-01 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Using Fisher forecasting, the author shows that a 2U to 12U MeVCube CubeSat could probe new dark matter parameter space for evaporating primordial black holes and MeV-scale decaying or annihilating dark matter.
