abstract

We present an extraction of unpolarized transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution and fragmentation functions based on more than two thousands data points from several experiments for two different processes: semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering and Drell-Yan production of lepton pairs. The baseline analysis is performed with a Monte Carlo replica method resumming large logarithms at N3LL accuracy. The resulting description of the data is very good ($\chi^2/N_{\rm dat} = 1.06$). For semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering, predictions for multiplicities are normalized by factors that cure the discrepancy with data introduced by higher-order perturbative corrections.

  1. Soft background fields at next-to-leading power in transverse momentum dependent SIDIS with jets

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

New next-to-leading-power factorization for SIDIS with jets from a background-field method with explicit soft modes, including operator-level definitions of twist-3 TMDs free of rapidity and endpoint divergences.

  2. Symbolic Extraction of Non-Perturbative Transverse-Momentum-Dependent Distributions from Drell-Yan Data

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Symbolic regression on a factorized NN fit to 482 Drell–Yan points yields a 9-constant analytical non-perturbative TMD with χ²/ndf≈1.04 and a retained x–b_T cross term.

  3. New insights from the flavor dependence of quark transverse momentum distributions in the pion

    hep-ph 2025-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

First flavor-dependent extraction of unpolarized quark TMDs in the pion, finding a wider transverse momentum tail for valence d quarks than for sea quarks, with large uncertainties.

  4. Assessing the sensitivity of Energy-Energy Correlations in $e^+e^-$ annihilation to TMD dynamics

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

At N4LL accuracy, a global fit to all available e+e- energy-energy correlation data shows the data are insensitive to the Collins-Soper kernel and alpha_s, contradicting a recent extraction claim.

  5. MATRIX HAWAII: PineAPPL interpolation grids with MATRIX

    hep-ph 2025-06 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Matrix Hawaii provides a public interface between PineAPPL and MATRIX that generates interpolation grids at NNLO QCD + NLO EW accuracy for a range of LHC processes, with sub-permille interpolation errors.

  6. Twist-3 effects in fully inclusive jet production from $e^+e^-$ annihilation

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Twist-3 corrections to e+e- -> hadron + inclusive jet are derived including weak interactions, yielding two azimuthal asymmetries that can expose the Collins fragmentation function at future colliders.
