We report new results which establish that the accurate 3-dimensional numerical simulation of generic single-black-hole spacetimes has been achieved by characteristic evolution with unlimited long term stability. Our results cover a selection of distorted, moving and spinning single black holes, with evolution times up to 60,000M.

  1. Towards long and accurate numerical relativity waveforms of binary black holes beyond general relativity

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.5 of 10

Spectral methods plus comoving fixing-the-equations drivers yield 40+ cycle equal-mass sGB binary waveforms with phase error ≲1 rad, distinguishable from GR and merging earlier.

  2. Conformal compactification and affine-null metric formulation of the Einstein equations

    gr-qc 2025-04 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A hierarchical, boundary-regular affine-null form of the conformal Einstein-scalar equations is derived, shown equivalent to compactified physical-space equations, and used to extract the news function at null infinity.
