TASI Lectures on Extra Dimensions and Branes
read the original abstract
This is a pedagogical introduction into theories with branes and extra dimensions. We first discuss the construction of such models from an effective field theory point of view, and then discuss large extra dimensions and some of their phenomenological consequences. Various possible phenomena (split fermions, mediation of supersymmetry breaking and orbifold breaking of symmetries) are discussed next. The second half of this review is entirely devoted to warped extra dimensions, including the construction of the Randall-Sundrum solution, intersecting branes, radius stabilization, KK phenomenology and bulk gauge bosons.

Repulsive dark matter from Hosotani mechanism
Two Scherk-Schwarz-twisted fermions in a 5D gauge theory make the fifth-component dark matter scalar self-repel, yielding viable ultralight dark matter with mass 10⁻²¹–1 eV and astrophysical-size solitons.

A geometric origin for the radiative neutrino portal to secluded dark matter
A brane-separated fifth dimension gives a geometric origin for the vanishing tree-level Higgs-hidden-scalar portal, leaving seesaw neutrinos to generate a small radiative portal that makes secluded dark matter viable ...

Tachyonic (In)stability in Randall-Sundrum Braneworld Scenarios
The radion in Randall-Sundrum braneworlds can become tachyonic depending on the sign of the on-brane matter trace, and positive-trace matter is claimed to destroy Goldberger-Wise hierarchy stabilization.

Tachyonic (In)stability in Randall-Sundrum Braneworld Scenarios
In stabilized Randall-Sundrum braneworlds, on-brane matter with positive trace of the energy-momentum tensor shifts the radion VEV and destroys gauge hierarchy resolution while negative trace preserves stability; expl...

Ultralight Dilatonic Dark Matter
Supersymmetry can stabilize an ultralight dilaton dark matter candidate, but gravity restricts its Standard Model couplings to undetectable levels, making consistent model building involved.

Kaluza-Klein Gravitons in a Higher Curvature Warped Geometry : A New Perspective
Higher-curvature corrections in a warped braneworld produce an upward shift in KK graviton masses, mildly altered couplings, suppressed virtual production cross sections, and enhanced dilepton/diphoton decay widths.

Tidal Response of Compact Objects
This review summarizes tidal Love numbers and dissipation effects for black holes, neutron stars, and exotic objects, noting vanishing static bosonic Love numbers for black holes in GR but nonzero values for fermions ...
