A previously found momentum-dependent regularization ambiguity in the third post-Newtonian two point-mass Arnowitt-Deser-Misner Hamiltonian is shown to be uniquely determined by requiring global Poincar\'e invariance. The phase-space generators realizing the Poincar\'e algebra are explicitly constructed.

  1. Black Hole Binary Dynamics from the Double Copy and Effective Theory

    hep-th 2019-08 accept novelty 8.0 of 10

The authors derive the complete conservative two-body Hamiltonian for spinless black holes at third post-Minkowskian order using scattering amplitudes and effective field theory.

    gr-qc 2024-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

EHT shadow sizes and LIGO/Virgo/KAGRA inspiral waveforms allow only small values of the dimensionless regularity parameter ℓ in the Ghosh-Simpson-Visser regular black hole.
