We carefully bootstrap the crossing kernels of Virasoro conformal blocks from first principles. Our approach emphasizes the Hilbert space structure of the space of Virasoro conformal blocks which makes the consistency of crossing transformations obvious. We give a pedagogical explanation of the necessary background about Virasoro conformal blocks and special functions. We also explain several applications and prove new results about the crossing kernels.

  1. On the Virasoro Crossing Kernels at Rational Central Charge

    hep-th 2025-12 conditional novelty 8.0 of 10

At rational central charge, the Virasoro crossing kernels decompose into two admissible square-root-branched kernels; the physical c≤1 kernels are derived for the first time.

  2. Modular transformations of tau functions and conformal blocks on the torus

    math-ph 2025-08 conditional novelty 8.0 of 10

The paper derives the modular connection constant for tau functions on the one-punctured torus and obtains an exact closed formula for the c=1 Virasoro modular kernel.

  3. Virasoro OPE and Conformal Blocks from the Inverse Shapovalov Form

    hep-th 2025-09 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A new explicit level-by-level series for four-point Virasoro conformal blocks on the sphere, with coefficients fixed by singular-vector weights, differing from Zamolodchikov recursion and AGT forms.

  4. A Holographic Map from AdS$_3$ to CFT$_2$

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Semiclassical pure AdS3 gravity states, labelled by fixed-area geodesic networks, are mapped to CFT2 primary states whose wavefunctions are networks of OPE coefficients.

  5. The Runkel-Watts string

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The Runkel-Watts string is a solvable family of two-dimensional string theories whose all-genus amplitudes are generated by SU(2) Yang-Mills TQFT data combined with VMS quantum volumes, and it has a dual matrix-integr...

  6. The many facets of a hyperbolic tetrahedron: open and closed triangulations of 3d gravity

    hep-th 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Open Virasoro TQFT equals fixed-length/angle 3d gravity path integrals on compact regions and yields the CTV–scalar Virasoro relation via open-closed duality.

  7. Statistics in 3d gravity from knots and links

    hep-th 2025-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Fragmentation of knots and links by Wilson lines builds wormhole amplitudes that give non-perturbative Gaussian and non-Gaussian corrections to OPE statistics in 3d gravity and CFT2.

  8. Triangulating quantum gravity in AdS$_3$

    hep-th 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The fixed-angle gravitational path integral in AdS3 equals a Conformal Turaev-Viro partition function, the fixed-length path integral equals a Virasoro TQFT amplitude squared, and the semiclassical geometries are buil...

  9. Conformal Turaev-Viro Theory

    hep-th 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Conformal Turaev-Viro theory is a triangulation-based dual to Virasoro TQFT whose partition function equals the modular S-transform of |Z_Vir|^2.
