It is well-known that the entanglement entropies for spacelike subregions, and the associated modular Hamiltonians play a crucial role in the bulk reconstruction program within Anti de-Sitter (AdS) holography. Explicit examples of HKLL map exist mostly for the cases where the emergent bulk region is the so-called entanglement wedge of the given boundary subregion. However, motivated from the complex pseudo-entropy in Euclidean conformal field theories (CFT), one can talk about a `timelike entanglement' in Lorentzian CFTs dual to AdS spacetimes. One can then utilize this boundary timelike entanglement to define a boundary `timelike modular Hamiltonian'. We use constraints involving these Hamiltonians in a manner similar to how it was used for spacelike cases, and write down bulk operators in regions which are not probed by an RT surface corresponding to a single CFT. In the context of two dimensional CFT, we re-derive the HKLL formulas for free bulk scalar fields in three examples: in AdS Poincar\'{e} patch, inside and outside of the AdS black hole, and for de Sitter flat slicings. In this method, one no longer requires the knowledge of bulk dynamics for sub-horizon holography.

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

In AdS3, dS3, and AdS4 hyperbolic examples, the Kontsevich-Segal-Witten criterion uniquely selects a three-piece complex contour for timelike extremal surfaces, while timelike strips in AdS4 violate the criterion near...

  2. Temporal Entanglement from Twist Correlators in 2d Conformal Field Theory and Holography

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Timelike entanglement entropy in 2d CFT is defined by time-ordered twist correlators, whose holographic saddles are complex geodesics with smallest real length, and whose imaginary part counts causal-diamond crossings...

  3. Holographic timelike complexity for de Sitter

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Timelike subregion volume complexity in de Sitter grows exponentially early and diverges hyperfast at a maximal duration; near the SdS black hole horizon the divergence is replaced by slower, claimed-nonlinear growth.

  4. Timelike Entanglement First Law and Linearized Field Equations in Higher Curvature Gravity

    hep-th 2026-07 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Timelike entanglement first law holds in Lovelock gravity about AdS, with both entropy and modular Hamiltonian variations carrying the same coupling factor that renormalizes Newton's constant in the linearized equations.

    hep-th 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The quadratic shape-deformation correction to pseudoentropy in dS/CFT is controlled by the analytically continued stress-tensor coefficient C_T, making the sphere a local extremum across Einstein and quadratic-curvatu...

    hep-th 2026-02 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Renormalized holographic pseudoentropy in dS/CFT is constructed from conformal-gravity actions in four and six dimensions, yielding finite sphere values and Mezei-like shape dependence for small deformations.
