abstract

We study the nonperturbative functions in the Collins--Soper--Sterman resummation formalism by examing Drell--Yan data in both fixed target and collider experiments and then predict the transverse momentum distributions of the $W^\pm$ and $Z^0$ bosons at the Tevatron. Our results differ from that in the literature and agree better with published CDF data. Using statistical arguments, we find a $1\,$fb${}^{-1}$ luminosity at the Fermilab Tevatron should be able to provide useful constraints on the nonperturbative functions.

  1. Soft-gluon coupling and the TMD parton branching Sudakov form factor

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The parton branching TMD framework is upgraded from NLL to NNLL accuracy using the soft-gluon physical coupling, with the Collins-Soper kernel evaluated at NNLL.

  2. Transverse Parton Distribution and Fragmentation Functions at NNLO: the Quark Case

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The authors compute NNLO quark transverse momentum dependent PDFs and fragmentation functions with the exponential regulator, and extract the two-loop quark jet function needed for N3LL energy-energy correlator resummation.

  3. New CTEQ global analysis of quantum chromodynamics with high-precision data from the LHC

    hep-ph 2019-12 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

New CT18 PDFs at NLO and NNLO from global fit to HERA plus LHC jet, Drell-Yan, top-pair and Z data, with Hessian errors, Lagrange-multiplier studies, and alternate sets for data tensions and scale choices.
