A formal ``small tension'' expansion of D=11 supergravity near a spacelike singularity is shown to be equivalent, at least up to 30th order in height, to a null geodesic motion in the infinite dimensional coset space E10/K(E10) where K(E10) is the maximal compact subgroup of the hyperbolic Kac-Moody group E10(R). For the proof we make use of a novel decomposition of E10 into irreducible representations of its SL(10,R) subgroup. We explicitly show how to identify the first four rungs of the E10 coset fields with the values of geometric quantities constructed from D=11 supergravity fields and their spatial gradients taken at some comoving spatial point.

  1. A Novel Matrix Model for the M5-brane?

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 8.0

A maximally supersymmetric extension of BFSS is obtained by adding a 5-bracket, promoting the 2-bracket structure constants to a dynamical field H_abc with Chern-Simons kinetics and an F^{2}=1 relation, with the actio...

  2. A Novel Matrix Model for the M5-brane?

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0

A maximally supersymmetric formal extension of BFSS by a 5-bracket exists once the 2-bracket structure constants are promoted to a dynamical self-dual field subject to Filippov and BPS quadratic constraints.

  3. On a new class of high-corank Kac-Moody algebras

    math.RA 2026-07 unverdicted novelty 7.0

Recursive multigraph-based constructions produce families of generalized Cartan matrices with exponentially growing coranks for Kac-Moody algebras, with explicit spectra computed via adjacency eigenvalue multiplicity.

  4. Duality-covariant particles and exotic branes

    hep-th 2026-06 conditional novelty 6.0

A particle worldline in E8 exceptional field theory is made gauge-invariant by adding a coadjoint-orbit "duality charge", and the same Hamiltonian framework organizes exotic zero-brane dynamics such as the 0^(1,7) brane.

  5. Duality-covariant particles and exotic branes

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0

Proposes enlarged worldline models with coadjoint orbit terms and generalized worldvolume theories for exotic branes that make E8 duality covariance manifest in a Hamiltonian formulation.

  6. Planck mass gravitinos in Einstein-Maxwell backgrounds

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Consistency of minimally coupled Rarita-Schwinger fields in Einstein-Maxwell backgrounds requires a mass lower bound set by charge and cosmological constant, forcing Planck-scale masses for charged gravitinos.

  7. Planck mass gravitinos in Einstein-Maxwell backgrounds

    hep-th 2026-06 conditional novelty 4.0

A charged massive spin-3/2 field in an Einstein-Maxwell background propagates consistently only when m^2 > 2q^2/3κ^2 − Λ/3, a bound rederived here and used to argue for Planck-scale charged gravitino dark matter.
