We discuss string theories with small numbers of non-compact moduli and describe constructions of string theories whose low-energy limit is described by various pure supergravity theories. We also construct a D=4,N=4 compactification of type II string theory with 34 vector fields.

Taxonomy of branes in infinite distance limits
Under the Emergent String Conjecture and a no-sliding assumption, particle and brane charges must sit on a finite set of lattices, reproducing known string spectra and predicting new branes.

Non-abelian asymmetric orbifolds with vanishing one-loop vacuum energy
A classification finds 17 four-dimensional Type II asymmetric orbifolds with non-abelian point groups and pointwise vanishing one-loop vacuum energy, each also realizable as a Scherk-Schwarz compactification.
