We confirm and extend the recent finding that the central surface density r_0*rho_0 galaxy dark matter halos, where r_0 and rho_0 are the halo core radius and central density, is nearly constant and independent of galaxy luminosity. Based on the co-added rotation curves of about 1000 spiral galaxies, mass models of individual dwarf irregular and spiral galaxies of late and early types with high-quality rotation curves and, galaxy-galaxy weak lensing signals from a sample of spiral and elliptical galaxies, we find that log(r_0*rho_0) = 2.15 +- 0.2, in units of log(Msol/pc^2). We also show that the observed kinematics of Local Group dwarf spheroidal galaxies are consistent with this value. Our results are obtained for galactic systems spanning over 14 magnitudes, belonging to different Hubble Types, and whose mass profiles have been determined by several independent methods. In the same objects, the approximate constancy of rho_0*r_0 is in sharp contrast to the systematical variations, by several orders of magnitude, of galaxy properties, including rho_0 and central stellar surface density.

  1. Structure-wide dark matter density depletion induced by local degeneracies

    astro-ph.GA 2024-07 unverdicted novelty 6.0

Degeneracy-induced depletion from fermionic DM in subhalos creates structure-wide low-density cores consistent with observations, linking profile diversity to formation history.

  2. Constraining light fermionic dark matter with binary pulsars

    astro-ph.GA 2019-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Dynamical friction from a degenerate fermionic dark matter background induces measurable secular decay in binary pulsar orbital periods, with sensitivity to fermion masses ≳50 eV and example upper bounds around 1 keV ...

  3. Schwarzschild-like Black Holes Submerged in an Exponential Density Dark Matter Profile

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 4.0

An analytic Schwarzschild-like metric with an exponential dark matter halo is constructed and its shadows, quasi-normal modes, and greybody bounds are computed, though several derived expressions have sign errors.

  4. Modeling dark matter halos with self-interacting fermions: A polytropic approach

    hep-ph 2025-12 reject novelty 4.0

A single ~40 eV self-interacting fermion is claimed to fit rotation curves of many galaxies with one adjustable density per galaxy, but fit quality and reported parameter ranges are inconsistent.

  5. Ringdown of a black hole sourced by a Burkert-density effective anisotropic source

    gr-qc 2025-11 reject novelty 4.0

The Burkert-halo black hole metric and its quasinormal-mode shifts are computed, but the model's source is not Burkert and the axial gravitational potential is incorrect.
