In a recent paper, D. Harlow, J. Maltz, and E. Witten showed that a particular proposal for the timelike Liouville three-point function, originally due to Al. Zamolodchikov and to I. Kostov and V. Petkova, can actually be computed by the original Liouville path integral evaluated on a new integration cycle. Here, we discuss a Coulomb gas computation of the timelike three-point function and show that an analytic extension of the Selberg type integral formulas involved reproduces the same expression, including the adequate normalization. A notable difference with the spacelike calculation is pointed out.

  1. Deforming the Double Liouville String

    hep-th 2024-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

For a two-parameter deformation of double Liouville string theory, the sphere partition function is computed to third order in the deformation coupling, with the Complex Liouville String differing from the Virasoro Mi...

  2. Holographic entanglement entropy with conformal boundary conditions

    hep-th 2026-08 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In AdS3 with conformal boundary conditions, holographic entanglement entropy is still the minimal-surface area over 4G_N, and the dual Liouville plus T Tbar theory gives entropy governed by the effective central charge c_eff.

  3. Timelike Liouville theory and AdS$_3$ gravity at finite cutoff

    hep-th 2025-08 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Proposes that AdS3 gravity at finite cutoff is dual to a CFT2 coupled to timelike Liouville theory deformed by a marginal operator, with checks via semiclassical partition functions and EOM matching.

  4. Instant Cosmology

    hep-th 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A cosmology sourced by instant folded strings produces slow-roll dark energy from the dilaton potential's slope, with NEC violation suppressed in expansion and amplified in contraction.
