We present a canonical model of spherical gravity with covariant corrections motivated by loop quantum gravity. The effective Hamiltonian defines univocally a family of geometries that generalizes the Lema\^itre-Tolman-Bondi spacetimes, and they can be matched to the vacuum of the theory across a timelike hypersurface comoving with the flow of matter. Such is precisely the complete spacetime picture of a spherical star subject to its own gravitational pull. The singularity gets replaced with a spacelike boundary in the trapped region of spacetime, where the curvature remains finite, and the area of the orbits of the spherical symmetry group attains its infimum. Observers falling into the black hole are doomed to travel forever towards this boundary without ever reaching it. The theory also predicts the formation of stable black-hole remnants of Planckian mass.

  1. Love Numbers of Covariant Loop Quantum Black Holes

    gr-qc 2025-05 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Tidal Love numbers of three covariant loop quantum black holes are shown to be generically nonzero, Planck-scale suppressed, and model-dependent in sign and logarithmic running.

  2. Radiative properties of a nonsingular black hole: Hawking radiation and gray-body factor

    gr-qc 2025-04 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A singularity-free black hole radiates more coldly and more like a perfect black body than Schwarzschild does, and, on one assumption about its parameters, it ends as a zero-temperature remnant instead of evaporating.

  3. Hawking evaporation and the fate of black holes in loop quantum gravity

    gr-qc 2025-04 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In a covariant LQG black hole model, Hawking temperature is unchanged while greybody factors gain sub-leading corrections, and a derived mass hierarchy favors black-to-white-hole transitions over remnants.

  4. Lessons for loop quantum gravity from emergent modified gravity

    gr-qc 2024-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Emergent modified gravity rules out most proposed loop quantum gravity black-hole models and shows that mu0 and mu-bar holonomy schemes are canonically equivalent, so they are not physically distinct.
