abstract

We consider the lepton sector of the Standard Model and allow for an arbitrary number of Higgs doublets and, moreover, for the presence of right-handed neutrino singlets which enable the seesaw mechanism. In this framework, we identify and calculate the dominant one-loop radiative corrections to the tree-level mass matrix of the light neutrinos. The interesting feature is that both the tree-level and the one-loop contributions to the light-neutrino mass matrix are quadratic in the Yukawa couplings, with the effect that the one-loop contribution is smaller than the tree-level one mainly because of the one-loop factor $(16\pi^2)^{-1}$. We also point out the possibility of generating radiatively--in this framework--the ratio of solar over atmospheric neutrino mass-squared differences, as needed for the large-mixing-angle MSW solution of the solar-neutrino problem.

  1. Dirac-Phase CP-Violation in the Low-Scale Type-I Seesaw with Three Right-Handed Neutrinos

    hep-ph 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Restricting CP violation in the low-scale type-I seesaw with three right-handed neutrinos to the Dirac phase δ alone yields specific testable subregions of heavy-neutrino flavor mixings and permits low-scale leptogene...

  2. Quantum effects on neutrino parameters from a flavored gauge boson

    hep-ph 2026-04 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A family-dependent U(1)_{Lμ-Lτ} gauge boson adds a one-loop term to the Weinberg-operator RGE that can raise the rank of the neutrino mass matrix, generating a lightest neutrino mass even if it starts at zero.

  3. Radiative Breaking of Two-Zero Neutrino Mass Minors: Revisiting the $\mathrm{U}(1)_{L_\mu-L_\tau}$ Model

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

One-loop threshold corrections in the minimal U(1)_{L_mu-L_tau} seesaw model break the tree-level two-zero minor structure, relaxing the lower bound on total neutrino mass and easing cosmological tension.

  4. Universal Seesaw Pati-Salam Model with P for Strong CP

    hep-ph 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A parity-symmetric Pati-Salam model with universal seesaw masses gives an axionless strong-CP solution and radiatively induced neutrino masses.

  5. Generalised $\mu$-$\tau$ symmetries and calculable gauge kinetic and mass mixing in $U(1)_{L_\mu-L_\tau}$ models

    hep-ph 2019-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The authors compute the previously arbitrary Z-Z' kinetic and mass mixing at one loop in two L_mu-L_tau models, finding a suppressed mixing in a seesaw version and a non-decoupling mixing in a vectorlike-lepton version.

  6. Seesaw neutrinos with one right-handed singlet field and a second Higgs doublet

    hep-ph 2019-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In the one-singlet seesaw plus two-Higgs-doublet model, the neutrino Yukawa couplings can be expressed analytically through the measured neutrino masses, the PMNS matrix, and only two free parameters, phi' and lambda_D.
