Soft-collinear effective theory is generalized to include soft massless quarks in addition to collinear fields. This extension is necessary for the treatment of interactions with the soft spectator quark in a heavy meson. The power counting of the relevant fields and the construction of the effective Lagrangian are discussed at leading order in Lambda/m_b. Several novel effects occur in the matching of full-theory amplitudes onto effective-theory operators containing soft light quarks, such as the appearance of an intermediate mass scale and large non-localities of operators on scales of order 1/Lambda. Important examples of effective-theory operators with soft light quarks are studied and their renormalization properties explored. The formalism presented here forms the basis for a systematic analysis of factorization and power corrections for any exclusive B-meson decay into light particles.

  1. The Simplest B Decay, Precisely

    hep-ph 2026-01 conditional novelty 8.0 of 10

A complete QCD×QED, next-to-leading-power factorization now gives a percent-level prediction for B⁻→μ⁻ν̄(γ) with all structure-dependent electromagnetic corrections included.

  2. The structure of quark mass corrections in the $gg \rightarrow HH$ amplitude at high-energy

    hep-ph 2024-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

The leading-power mass logarithms in high-energy gg to HH are shown to originate solely from top-quark mass renormalization, enabling a resummation that sharply reduces the mass-scheme uncertainty of the virtual amplitude.

  3. Power-enhanced leading-logarithmic QED corrections to $B_q \to \mu^+\mu^-$

    hep-ph 2019-08 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A systematic SCET treatment of the power-enhanced QED correction to Bq->mu+mu- is derived, leading QED and QED-QCD logarithms are resummed, and updated branching fractions are presented.

  4. QED Corrections to $B^-\to\tau^-\bar{\nu}_\tau$

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The B−→τ−ν̄τ rate with real and virtual QED corrections is derived to O(α) with resummed logarithmic corrections in a two-heavy-fermion EFT: percent-level effects, mild photon-veto dependence, and a structure-dependen...

  5. Random Reshuffling-Based Distributed Nash Equilibrium Seeking

    math.OC 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Random reshuffling yields distributed Nash-seeking algorithms that, under partial decision information, converge linearly to a neighborhood (constant steps) or exactly a.s./in mean square (diminishing steps), outperfo...

  6. Low-energy theory of jet processes and PDF factorization

    hep-ph 2025-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A three-loop Glauber contribution to low-energy soft-collinear matrix elements exactly cancels the collinear factorization-violating terms, so DGLAP running and PDF factorization are consistent with super-leading logarithms.

  7. SCET sum rules for $\Lambda_b \to \Lambda \ell^+\ell^-$, $\Lambda \gamma$ decays

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

SCET light-cone sum rules give NLO soft form factors and small non-factorizable corrections for Λ_b → Λ decays, with a Λ_b → Λ γ branching fraction consistent with data.
