We propose a new solution to the cosmological monopole problem in which domain walls sweep away the magnetic monopoles and subsequently decay. The solution does not require extensive fine tuning or model building - it works for the prototype SU(5) Grand Unification model. More generally, it shows that defect interactions can lead to ``defect erasure'' in phase transitions and that this can be relevant to early universe physics.

Defect-Mediated Conversion: Dark Matter from Cosmological Domain-Wall Scattering
Domain-wall cores containing a scalar condensate convert bath fermions into dark fermions, producing the observed dark matter relic abundance and dominating the yield over freeze-in by 30 to 100 times.

Outcomes of Grand Unified Symmetry Breaking
Numerical SU(3) simulations find biased domain walls both absorb and produce magnetic monopoles, so wall collapse can leave residual monopoles and may source GWs or magnetically charged black holes.

Self-Consistent Parker Bound on Magnetic Monopoles
A self-consistent Parker bound on magnetic monopoles is derived using the galactic mean-field dynamo eigenmode and turbulent field seeding and acceleration, producing modified flux limits at low and intermediate masse...

Oscillons and bubbles in $Q$-ball dynamics
In the thin-wall regime, Q-ball-anti-Q-ball collisions are chaotic, driven by internal bound modes and ephemeral states, with false-vacuum bubbles stabilized by Goldstone modes as key intermediates.

A simple solution to the monopole problem: SU(5) GUT with symmetry breaking into special subgroup
An SU(5) GUT model uses an intermediate breaking to SO(3)_C × SO(2)_L realized by adjoint, symmetric tensor, and singlet scalars plus singlet fermions so that monopoles annihilate via cosmic strings, with possible fir...

Cosmological History of Flavour Deconstruction Models: Constraints from Monopole Production
Flavour deconstruction models with semi-simple gauge groups generically produce light monopoles that require low-scale reheating after inflation to satisfy cosmological and astrophysical bounds.

Simulations of Magnetic Monopole Collisions
Numerical field-theory simulations reproduce the predicted right-angle, 60-degree, and 45-degree scattering of BPS magnetic monopoles and show tetrahedral and cubic intermediate states.

Domain walls and magnetic monopoles in Grand Unified Models
In an SU(3) non-Abelian gauge theory, magnetic monopole number density is suppressed for small bias parameter ε of domain walls, allowing few monopoles to survive.
