Recent work on holographic superconductivity and gravitational duals of systems with non-relativistic conformal symmetry have made use of consistent truncations of D=10 and D=11 supergravity retaining some massive modes in the Kaluza-Klein tower. In this paper we focus on reductions of IIB supergravity to five dimensions on a Sasaki-Einstein manifold, and extend these previous truncations to encompass the entire bosonic sector of gauged D=5, N=2 supergravity coupled to massive multiplets up to the second Kaluza-Klein level. We conjecture that a necessary condition for the consistency of massive truncations is to only retain the lowest modes in the massive trajectories of the Kaluza-Klein mode decomposition of the original fields. This is an extension of the well-known result that consistent truncations may be obtained by restricting to the singlet sector of the internal symmetry group.

Non-Abelian Symmetry Operators from Hanging Branes in $AdS_5 \times S^5$
In AdS5×S5, non-Abelian SO(6) symmetry operators are realized by hanging D5-brane–KK-monopole bound states, matching the Gauss-law operators from the low-energy supergravity action.

Minimal $D=4$ truncations of type IIA
Explicit consistent truncations from massive type IIA on S^6 to minimal D=4 N=2 and N=3 gauged supergravities are constructed and verified.

Gravitational index, black hole saddle degeneracy, and one-form symmetry
The |G|-fold degeneracy of supersymmetric AdS5 black hole index saddles is fixed by the flux-quantized BF coupling of the bulk one-form symmetry and persists unmodified in the decompactified black-brane limit.

Continuous symmetries and charge measurement of boundary operators in holography
Continuous symmetry operators in holography are U-shaped hanging brane bound states (D5-KK in Type IIB, M5-KK in M-theory) whose worldvolume couplings reproduce the Gauss-law symmetry operators and measure charges of ...

How to uplift non-maximal gauged supergravities
An ExFT-based algorithm reduces the uplift problem to a PDE on the base of the internal manifold and classifies the type IIB uplifts of pure SO(4)-gauged N=4 supergravity by two harmonic functions on a Riemann surface.
