abstract

In this work we study the mass spectra of the fully-heavy tetraquark systems, i.e. $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$, $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$, $bb\bar{c}\bar{c}/cc\bar{b}\bar{b}$, $bc\bar{c}\bar{c}/cc\bar{b}\bar{c}$, $bc\bar{b}\bar{b}/bb\bar{b}\bar{c}$, and $bc\bar{b}\bar{c}$, within a potential model by including the linear confining potential, Coulomb potential, and spin-spin interactions. It shows that the linear confining potential has important contributions to the masses and is crucial for our understanding of the mass spectra of the fully-heavy tetraquark systems. For the fully-heavy tetraquarks $Q_1Q_2\bar{Q}_3\bar{Q}_4$ our explicit calculations suggest that no bound states can be formed below the thresholds of any meson pairs $(Q_1\bar{Q}_3)$-$(Q_2\bar{Q}_4)$ or $(Q_1\bar{Q}_4)$-$(Q_2\bar{Q}_3)$. Thus, we do not expect narrow fully-heavy tetraquark states to be existing in experiments.

  1. Next-to-leading order QCD corrections to electromagnetic production and decay of fully charm tetraquarks

    hep-ph 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The first NLO QCD corrections to fully charm tetraquark → γγ decay are given, with photon-fusion production cross sections predicted.

  2. Observation of structures in the $J/\psi +\psi(2S)$ mass spectrum with the ATLAS detector

    hep-ex 2025-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A structure near 6.9 GeV appears in the J/psi+psi(2S) mass spectrum at 8.9 sigma, consistent with the X(6900) tetraquark.

  3. Lattice calculation of the $\eta_c\eta_c$ and $J/\psi J/\psi$ s-wave scattering length

    hep-lat 2024-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

    A continuum-extrapolated lattice calculation gives a^{0+}_{eta_c eta_c} = -0.104(09) fm and a^{2+}_{J/psi J/psi} = -0.165(16) fm, indicating repulsive interactions.

  4. Symmetry Analysis of Compact Tetraquark States and Implications for the Fully Charmed Candidates $X(6600)$, $X(6900)$, and $X(7100)$

    hep-ph 2026-07 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Symmetry analysis of compact tetraquarks shows low-energy states favor J^P=2+ and places X(6600), X(6900), X(7100) among the lower levels of the fully charmed spectrum.

  5. A novel configuration of gluonic tetraquark state

    hep-ph 2024-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

The predicted masses of the octet-octet-octet tetracharm hybrid states, 6.98 GeV (0++) and 7.26 GeV (0-+), overlap the observed X(6900) and X(7200).
