Symmetries of the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) potential that can be extended to the whole Lagrangian, i.e. the CP-symmetries CP1, CP2, CP3 and the Higgs-family symmetries Z2, U(1) and SO(3) are discussed. Sufficient and necessary conditions in terms of constraints on masses and physical couplings for the potential to respect each of these symmetries are found. Each symmetry can be realized through several alternative cases, each case being a set of relations among physical parameters. We will show that some of those relations are invariant under the renormalization group, but others are not. The cases corresponding to each symmetry group are illustrated by analyzing the interplay between the potential and the vacuum expectation values.

  1. GOOFy-compatible 3HDMs and beyond

    hep-ph 2026-08 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A GOOFy-compatible quadratic sector requires a sign character realized in R*otimesR, and the RG stability of the 2HDM r0 relation is a unique SU(2) accident.

  2. CP violation in H^\pm \to W^\pm Z: A physical approach for the 2HDM

    hep-ph 2026-02 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

H±→W±Z develops a one-loop CP-violating charge asymmetry in the 2HDM from internal bosonic and fermionic loop interferences, with the purely bosonic part vanishing in the alignment limit when the extra scalars are heavy.

  3. Systematic analysis of 3HDM symmetries

    hep-ph 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A systematic catalogue of realisable Higgs-family, general-CP, and GOOFy/T-GOOFy symmetries in three-Higgs-doublet models, with new invariant potentials and a corrected U(1)◦V4 group structure.

  4. Dark Matter and CP Violation in Some Symmetry-Constrained 3HDMs

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

S3-symmetric three-Higgs-doublet models allow dark matter in a 29-42 GeV window, exclude heavy candidates above 500 GeV, and admit MeV-scale light scalars, while continuous-symmetry variants produce mass-degenerate da...
