In this review article, we revisit the connection between dressing of scattering states in quantum electrodynamics by clouds of soft photons, and their dressing by (generalised) Wilson line operators. In particular, we show that the leading and subleading soft conformal dressings considered in the context of celestial holography can be straightforwardly obtained from generalised Wilson lines, and that this only requires knowledge of the asymptotic behaviour of the photon field near null and timelike infinity.

Generalized Wilson lines and the gravitational scattering of spinning bodies
A new generalized Wilson line representation for spin-1/2 and classical spinning bodies is derived, reproducing known 2PM gravitational scattering observables.

Subleading soft radiation during scattering of dressed states in QED
With subleading-corrected Faddeev-Kulish dressing, tree-level QED bremsstrahlung below the dressing scale vanishes, and elastic dressed amplitudes equal the infrared-finite part of Fock amplitudes.

Lectures on Carrollian Holography
Massless scattering amplitudes, including gravitons, can be recast as correlators of a carrollian conformal field theory on null infinity, but the non-perturbative bootstrap program remains incomplete.
