abstract

We construct compactifications of type IIB string theory that yield, at leading order in the $\alpha^\prime$ and $g_s$ expansions, de Sitter vacua of the form envisioned by Kachru, Kallosh, Linde, and Trivedi. We specify explicit Calabi-Yau orientifolds and quantized fluxes for which we derive the four-dimensional effective supergravity theories, incorporating the exact flux superpotential, the nonperturbative superpotential from Euclidean D3-branes, and the K\"ahler potential at tree level in the string loop expansion but to all orders in $\alpha'$. Each example includes a Klebanov-Strassler throat region containing a single anti-D3-brane, whose supersymmetry-breaking energy, computed at leading order in $\alpha'$, causes an uplift to a metastable de Sitter vacuum in which all moduli are stabilized. Finding vacua that demonstrably survive subleading corrections, and in which the quantization conditions are completely understood, is an important open problem for which this work has prepared the foundations.

  2. A de Sitter Anti-Scrambling Algebra

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

In a toy model of de Sitter quantum gravity, shockwave time advances break the KMS condition and prevent the Hartle-Hawking state from being a trace on the observer's crossed-product algebra.

  3. O(16)$\times$O(16) heterotic theory on $AdS_3\times S^3\times T^4$

    hep-th 2025-10 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The one-loop correction to the O(16)×O(16) heterotic vacuum on AdS3×S3×T4 raises the cosmological constant but never uplifts it to de Sitter for any flux integers, and the Kaluza-Klein modes of the six-dimensional fie...

  4. Constraining the axiverse with reionization

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Roughly 10 to 15 percent of explicit string theory axiverse models are disfavored by CMB reionization data unless reheating stayed below about 10^10 GeV.

  5. Perturbative K\"ahler Moduli Inflation

    hep-th 2025-06 reject novelty 6.0 of 10

Two classes of slow-roll inflation potentials, V0(1+C1 φ^(2/3)) and V0(1-C2 φ^(-2/3)), are derived from perturbative Kähler moduli stabilization and give r below 10^-2 and 10^-8.

  6. Backtracking AdS flux vacua

    hep-th 2025-06 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Flux backtracking produces candidate brane-probe singularities for AdS flux vacua, including a new strongly coupled massive IIA singularity conjectured to be the brane picture of DGKT.

  7. Pure D-brane Black Holes: BPS Counting and non-BPS Vacua

    hep-th 2026-01 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

The (1,1,1,5) and (1,1,1,6) D2-D2-D2-D6 BPS systems yield 2032 and 5616 vacua, matching U-duality, while the analogous non-BPS system has no zero-energy vacua and six doubly-degenerate low-energy minima.

    hep-th 2025-11 reject novelty 5.0 of 10

Adding a base-modulus redefinition to fibre inflation in perturbative LVS shifts (ns, r) into ACT-allowed territory and yields an axion quintessence companion.
