abstract
We analyze the one-loop effects of massive fields on 2-to-2 scattering processes involving gravitons. It has been suggested that in the presence of gravity, any local effective field theory description must break down at the "species scale". We first observe that unitarity and analyticity of the amplitude indeed imply a species-type bound $G\Lambda^{d-2}N\leq O(1)$, where $N$ counts parametrically light species and $\Lambda$ is an energy scale above which new unknown ingredients must modify the graviton amplitude. To clarify what happens at this scale, we contrast the partial wave decomposition of calculated amplitudes with that of some ultraviolet scenarios: string theory and strongly interacting Planck-scale physics. Observing that the latter exhibit a markedly stronger high-spin content, we define nonperturbatively the high-spin onset scale $\Lambda_{\rm o}$, which coincides with the string scale and higher-dimensional Planck scale in respective examples. We argue that, generally, no local field description can exist at distances shorter than $1/\Lambda_{\rm o}$.

Supersymmetry, Supergravity and the Consistency of On-Shell Massive Superamplitudes
Consistent scattering amplitudes force a massless spin-3/2 particle to be the gravitino of a supergravity theory, and constrain massive BPS vector couplings to form a Lie algebra.

Scalar weak gravity bound from full unitarity
For a shift-symmetric scalar EFT with gravity, unitarity and dispersion relations imply Λ/M_P < 2.38 \tilde{g}_2^{1/5} and, in an improved smeared version, Λ^2/M_P^2 < 0.0115 |\tilde{g}_2|.

Kaluza-Klein tower thresholds and scheme dependence of the species scale
Leading KK-tower local corrections to four-derivative gravity are regulator-dependent EFT matching data, while log N terms are universal within proper-time cutoffs, so species-scale definitions match only parametrically.

Stochastic Survival near Swampland Boundaries
Surviving inflationary histories develop a universal inward drift near any hard swampland boundary — two times the diffusion over the distance to the edge — regardless of the cutoff's microscopic origin.

Fixed points of classical gravity coupled with a Standard-Model-like theory
A free conformal matter content with n1/2=4n1 and n'_0=3n1 gives a UV fixed point where all stress tensor correlators are finite; the Standard Model with right-handed neutrinos and 36 four-derivative scalars is such a theory.

A short overview on the Black Hole-Tower Correspondence and Species Thermodynamics
A review of the black hole-tower correspondence and species thermodynamics, which aim to explain black hole entropy via towers of light states and to show only certain towers are allowed.
