The Axial Gravitational Ringing of a Spherically Symmetric Black Hole Surrounded by Dark Matter Spike
read the original abstract
Supermassive black holes at the center of each galaxy may be surrounded by dark matter. Such dark matter admits a spike structure and vanishes at a certain distance from the black hole. This dark matter will impact the spacetime near the black hole and the related ringing gravitational waves can show distinguished features of the black hole without dark matter. In the present work, we focus on the quasi-normal modes of the axial gravitational perturbation who dominate the ringdown process of the perturbed black holes surrounded by dark matter spikes. The relativistic modification results in less impact on QNMs. And the relative ringing frequency difference between the black holes with and without dark matter can be as large as $10^{-2}$. These features can be used in future gravitational wave detection about extremal mass ratio inspiral systems to probe the existence of dark matter around supermassive black holes.

Quasinormal modes and tidal responses of black holes in generic anisotropic matter environments
A perturbative framework for black holes in anisotropic matter shows quasinormal modes dominated by gravitational redshift while tidal Love numbers exhibit order-unity deviations including vanishing and negative values.

Black hole spacetimes with dark matter spikes: Energy-momentum tensor and backreaction effects
A dark-matter spike built from the full orbital motion of its particles has ~50% more energy density near the black hole and produces metric deviations ~2.5 times larger than mass-only models.

Nonradial oscillations of realistic anisotropic neutron stars: Axial modes
Axial modes of anisotropic neutron stars show mass-scaled frequency and damping time with nearly universal quadratic dependence on compactness, insensitive to EOS and anisotropy model.

Nonradial oscillations of realistic anisotropic neutron stars: Axial modes
Axial modes of anisotropic neutron stars are integrated numerically for realistic EOS; frequency falls with mass, damping time rises, and scaled quantities follow a near-universal quadratic in compactness that is larg...

Long-lived quasinormal frequencies for regular black hole supported by the Einasto profile in the presence of the magnetic field
For Einasto-supported regular black holes, larger effective scalar mass and certain halo parameters suppress the quasinormal damping rate, producing long-lived modes and shifting grey-body factors toward higher frequencies.

Black holes surrounded by dark matter spike: Spacetime metrics and gravitational wave ringdown waveforms
Black hole spacetimes in dark matter spikes are solved analytically from TOV equations; ringdown quasinormal frequencies differ from Schwarzschild by up to order 10^{-4}.
