This document summarises the current theoretical and experimental status of the di-Higgs boson production searches, and of the direct and indirect constraints on the Higgs boson self-coupling, with the wish to serve as a useful guide for the next years. The document discusses the theoretical status, including state-of-the-art predictions for di-Higgs cross sections, developments on the effective field theory approach, and studies on specific new physics scenarios that can show up in the di-Higgs final state. The status of di-Higgs searches and the direct and indirect constraints on the Higgs self-coupling at the LHC are presented, with an overview of the relevant experimental techniques, and covering all the variety of relevant signatures. Finally, the capabilities of future colliders in determining the Higgs self-coupling are addressed, comparing the projected precision that can be obtained in such facilities. The work has started as the proceedings of the Di-Higgs workshop at Colliders, held at Fermilab from the 4th to the 9th of September 2018, but it went beyond the topics discussed at that workshop and included further developments.

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

First NNLO QCD cross sections for pp→Vhh in SMEFT and HEFT, provided as interpolated coefficients; W±hh K-factors are almost EFT-independent while Zhh is sensitive to gluon-initiated contributions.

  2. Could electron-top interactions spoil the measurement of the Higgs trilinear? -A quantitative estimate at future lepton colliders-

    hep-ph 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Electron-top four-fermion operators are constrained by FCC-ee fermion-pair measurements strongly enough that they do not spoil the ~17% one-sigma extraction of the Higgs trilinear coupling.

  3. The goofy-symmetric Standard Model and the Hierarchy Problem

    hep-ph 2025-07 reject novelty 6.0 of 10

The Standard Model action is invariant under goofy transformations when the Higgs mass term vanishes, offering a new symmetry-based protection of the Higgs mass and generating electroweak symmetry breaking through spo...

  4. Loop-corrected Trilinear Higgs Self-Couplings in the NMSSM with Inverse Seesaw Mechanism

    hep-ph 2025-06 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Loop corrections from inverse-seesaw neutrinos and sneutrinos can change the SM-like Higgs self-coupling by up to 10.5% and the SM-like Higgs mass by up to 4.5% in the NMSSM with inverse seesaw.

  5. Sensitivity to Triple Higgs Couplings via Di-Higgs Production in the RxSM at the (HL-)LHC and future $e^+e^-$ Colliders

    hep-ph 2025-02 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

In the real singlet extension of the Standard Model, the di-Higgs mass spectrum at the HL-LHC and at ILC1000 carries a measurable imprint of the triple Higgs coupling λhhH, and the pure-resonant approximation used by ...

  6. Interference effects in new physics searches

    hep-ph 2026-01 accept novelty 3.0 of 10

Interference between new-physics resonances and Standard Model backgrounds must be included in collider searches; the review shows it can distort, enhance, or even cancel expected signals.
