In this text different theoretical approaches towards multi-quark states are introduced, namely hadrocharmonia, compact tetraquarks and hadronic molecules. The predictions derived from either of them are contrasted with current and possible future observations. The focus is on doubly heavy systems, but singly heavy and light systems are mentioned briefly as well.

  1. Effective Range Expansion with the Left-Hand Cut: Higher Order Improvements

    hep-ph 2026-01 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Extended the generalized effective-range expansion, including the left-hand cut from one-particle exchange, to O(k^6) with a new relativistic version, validated against exact Yukawa-potential solutions of the Lippmann...

  2. Diffusion Monte Carlo study of deuteron-like fully light hexaquarks

    hep-ph 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Within the AL1 constituent-quark model, compact uuuddd hexaquarks lie well above baryon–baryon thresholds while dibaryon-like states are near-threshold molecular candidates, one deuteron-like but unbound by ~12 MeV.

  3. Single- and double-heavy Hadronic Molecules

    hep-ph 2025-08 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

A conference review argues that the X(3872), Tcc(3875), and the lowest open-charm states are hadronic molecules, and predicts an isovector partner Wc1 that should show up in B0 -> K0 J/psi pi pi decays.

  4. Triply heavy tetraquarks $\bar{b}c\bar{q}c$ and $\bar{c}b\bar{q}b$ in a constituent quark model

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

A constituent quark model predicts dozens of narrow tetraquark resonances in the mixed beauty-charm systems \bar{b}c\bar{q}c and \bar{c}b\bar{q}b.
