Quantum gravitational corrections to the entropy of the Schwarzschild black hole, derived using the Wald entropy formula within an effective field theory framework, were presented in [X. Calmet, F. Kuipers Phys.Rev.D 104 (2021) 6, 066012]. These corrections result in a Schwarzschild spacetime that is deformed by the quantum correction. However, it is observed that the proposed quantum-corrected metric describes not a black hole, but a wormhole. Nevertheless, further expansion of the metric function in terms of the quantum correction parameter yields a well-defined black hole metric whose geometry closely resembles that of a wormhole. We also explore methods for distinguishing between these quantum-corrected spacetimes based on the quasinormal frequencies they emit. We show that while the fundamental mode deviates from the Schwarzschild limit only mildly, the first few overtones deviate at a strongly increasing rate, creating a characteristic ``sound'' of the event horizon.

  1. Novel echoes from black holes in conformal Weyl gravity

    gr-qc 2025-02 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Massive scalar perturbations on conformal Weyl black holes with c^2<1 and mu^2>Lambda experience a double-peak potential barrier and produce a series of late-time echoes.

  2. Long-lived quasinormal frequencies for regular black hole supported by the Einasto profile in the presence of the magnetic field

    gr-qc 2026-03 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

For Einasto-supported regular black holes, larger effective scalar mass and certain halo parameters suppress the quasinormal damping rate, producing long-lived modes and shifting grey-body factors toward higher frequencies.

  3. Long-lived quasinormal modes and grey-body factors of supermassive black holes with a dark matter halo

    gr-qc 2025-11 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Massive scalar fields around a Schwarzschild black hole with a dark matter halo ring longer as field mass grows, while realistic halo parameters leave quasinormal frequencies and grey-body factors almost unchanged.

  4. Bonanno-Reuter regular black hole: quasi-resonances, grey-body factors and absorption cross-sections of a massive scalar field

    gr-qc 2025-10 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Damping of massive scalar quasinormal modes decreases with field mass in the Bonanno-Reuter black hole, and grey-body factors shift to higher frequencies.
