General relativistic calculations are made of neutrino-antineutrino annihilation into electron-positron pairs near the surface of a neutron star. It is found that the efficiency of this process is enhanced over the Newtonian values up to a factor of more than 4 in the regime applicable to Type II supernovae and by up to a factor of 30 for collapsing neutron stars.

  1. Neutrino oscillations in a neutrino-dominated accretion disk around a Kerr BH

    astro-ph.HE 2019-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Neutrino self-interactions inside neutrino-cooled accretion disks are argued to push flavors toward equipartition, reducing the neutrino-antineutrino annihilation energy deposition around black holes by a factor up to...

    gr-qc 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Computes quasinormal modes via 13th-order WKB with Padé, greybody factors by numerical integration, and Hawking/neutrino spectra for Euler-Heisenberg plus perfect fluid dark matter black holes, finding PFDM increases ...

  3. Charged black holes in Kalb-Ramond gravity: Weak Deflection Angle, Shadow cast, Quasinormal Modes and Neutrino annihilation

    gr-qc 2025-05 reject novelty 4.0 of 10

The Kalb-Ramond black hole phenomenology is mostly an extension of known results, and its shadow formula is internally inconsistent, invalidating the EHT-based constraints.
