Observables related to the real part of the gravitational eikonal, such as the deflection angle and time delay, have been found so far to have a smooth post-Minkowskian (PM) expansion whose validity extends from the non-relativistic to the most extreme ultra-relativistic (UR) regime, which smoothly connects with massless particle collisions. To describe gravitational radiation, the eikonal phase has to be promoted to a unitary operator for which we motivate a proposal and start discussing properties in the soft-radiation limit. A convergent PM expansion is found to only hold below an UR bound (discussed in the GR literature in the seventies) above which a different expansion is instead needed implying, in general, some non-analyticity in Newton's constant. In this extreme UR regime soft radiative observables receive contributions only from gravitons and are therefore universal. This generalises the pattern discussed in \cite{DiVecchia:2020ymx} beyond the elastic case.

  1. Resumming Scattering Amplitudes for Waveforms

    hep-th 2026-01 unverdicted novelty 7.0

A new projector-based formalism determines effective potentials from perturbative amplitudes and resums them to compute non-perturbative gravitational waveforms for generic two-body trajectories.

  2. Analytic structure of the high-energy gravitational amplitude: multi-H diagrams and classical 5PM logarithms

    hep-th 2025-11 unverdicted novelty 7.0

Computes the leading double logarithm at 5PM in the high-energy gravitational amplitude via multi-H diagrams and dispersion relations, extracting the single-log imaginary part of the eikonal phase.

  3. The Classical Gravitational Impulse at High Energies

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0

The gravitational impulse for ultrarelativistic massive scalars is resummed to all orders in G_N at fixed G_N s/mb, recovering post-Minkowski results and predicting the leading high-energy behavior to eleventh post-Mi...

    gr-qc 2026-02 conditional novelty 6.0

A probe scattering off a Schwarzschild black hole transfers a definite leading-order post-Minkowskian angular momentum to the horizon, given by new closed formulas (3.24b), (3.29), (3.36).

  5. Lorentz Covariant Supertranslation Frames for the Angular Momentum Aspect

    gr-qc 2025-10 conditional novelty 5.0

Angular momentum in GR is made unambiguous by fixing supertranslation frames through the center-of-mass condition J_{\mu\nu}P^\nu=0, extended covariantly to the final state via P^i_\mu P^f_\nu J^{f\mu\nu}=0.
