We analyze experimental data for the production of Lambda baryons in e^+e^- annihilation in terms of scale dependent, QCD evolved, Lambda fragmentation functions. Apart from the vast majority of the data for which the polarization of an observed Lambda was not determined, we also consider the recent LEP measurements of the longitudinal polarization of Lambda's produced on the Z-resonance. Such data correspond to spin-dependent fragmentation functions for the Lambda. We point out that the present data are insufficient to satisfactorily fix these. We therefore suggest several different sets of fragmentation functions, all compatible with present data, and study the prospects for conceivable future semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering experiments to discriminate between them. We provide the complete next-to-leading order QCD framework for all the processes we consider.

  1. Hyperon-pair spin tomography beyond scalar spin correlations

    hep-ph 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Scalar Lambda-pair spin correlations leave a continuous density-matrix degeneracy; full tensor tomography is required to claim entanglement, and a ³P₀ benchmark predicts a specific anisotropy pattern.

  2. Precise QCD Predictions for Hadron-in-jet Production in $e^+e^-$ Collisions

    hep-ph 2026-02 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

First NNLO QCD predictions for hadron-in-jet cross sections in e+e- two- and three-jet events, with ALEPH comparisons showing improved convergence when the fragmentation scale is set by the jet resolution.

  3. NNLO phase-space integrals for semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering

    hep-ph 2024-12 accept novelty 5.0 of 10

The paper gives closed analytic forms for the 20 phase-space master integrals needed for NNLO semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering, using two independent methods that agree with a competing calculation.

  4. Helicity correlation of neighboring dihadron

    hep-ph 2024-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

The helicity correlation of two neighboring hadrons is driven by QCD evolution from the longitudinal spin-transfer function, offering a new unpolarized-collision observable for spin physics.

  5. Toward Precision Helicity PDFs from Global DIS and SIDIS Fits with Projected EIC Measurements

    hep-ph 2026-02 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Projected EIC pion and kaon SIDIS measurements would substantially reduce the uncertainties on the proton's sea-quark and gluon helicity distributions, most strongly at small momentum fractions.
