abstract
Earth absorbs $\nue$ and $\numu$ of energies above about 100 TeV. As is well-known, although $\nutau$ will also disappear through charged-current interactions, the $\nutau$ flux will be regenerated by prompt tau decays. We show that this process also produces relatively large fluxes of secondary $\nube$ and $\nubmu$, greatly enhancing the detectability of the initial $\nutau$. This is particularly important because at these energies $\nutau$ is a significant fraction of the expected astrophysical neutrino flux, and only a tiny portion of the atmospheric neutrino flux.

Probing Neutrino Flavor Composition with the Glashow Resonance at Tau Air-Shower Neutrino Telescopes
Tau air-shower telescopes can potentially measure the PeV \bar{\nu}_e/(\nu_\tau+\bar{\nu}_\tau) ratio via the Glashow resonance, but standalone sensitivity only clearly separates \bar{\nu}_e-rich sources from standard...

Illuminating Very Heavy Dark Matter in the Earth with Tau Neutrinos
Tau neutrino regeneration lets IceCube constrain dark matter annihilation in Earth's core for masses from 10^5 to 10^10 GeV, setting new upper limits on the spin-independent scattering cross section.
