We present results from a detailed numerical study of the small-scale and loop production properties of cosmic string networks, based on the largest and highest resolution string simulations to date. We investigate the non-trivial fractal properties of cosmic strings, in particular, the fractal dimension and renormalised string mass per unit length, and we also study velocity correlations. We demonstrate important differences between string networks in flat (Minkowski) spacetime and the two very similar expanding cases. For high resolution matter era network simulations, we provide strong evidence that small-scale structure has converged to `scaling' on all dynamical lengthscales, without the need for other radiative damping mechanisms. We also discuss preliminary evidence that the dominant loop production size is also approaching scaling.

Resonance phenomena in vortex-antivortex collisions
Vortex–antivortex collisions in the deep type-II Abelian-Higgs model show multi-bounce windows embedded in annihilation regions, driven by a Feshbach resonant mode.

Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background from Chiral Superconducting Cosmic Strings
Superconducting cosmic string loops emit vector radiation whose strength is fitted in this paper; including this channel suppresses the predicted gravitational wave background for strong coupling and can make the spec...

Gravitational Wave Imprints of a High-Quality Axion and the Origin of Flavor Hierarchies
Gauged U(1)_F flavor symmetries shield the axion from quantum gravity corrections, yielding unit domain wall number and a plateau-valley GW spectrum from flavonic and axionic strings as a probe of flavored axion dark matter.

Gravitational waves from metastable cosmic strings in the delayed scaling scenario
Metastable cosmic strings with delayed scaling can explain the PTA gravitational wave background with tension up to Gmu ~ 3e-5 while evading LVK bounds, producing a plateau and an f^-1/3 tail detectable by future inte...
