We study the quasi-normal modes (QNM) of scalar, electromagnetic and gravitational perturbations of black holes in general relativity whose horizons have toroidal, cylindrical or planar topology in an asymptotically anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime. The associated quasinormal frequencies describe the decay in time of the corresponding test field in the vicinities of the black hole. In terms of the AdS/CFT conjecture, the inverse of the frequency is a measure of the dynamical timescale of approach to thermal equilibrium of the corresponding conformal field theory.

    gr-qc 2026-05 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Scalar-type Maxwell perturbations in large d≥5 Schwarzschild-AdS black holes exhibit purely imaginary low-frequency quasinormal modes, confirmed numerically and by asymptotic matching.

  2. On partial groups of small order

    math.GR 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Computer enumeration produces 123650 partial groups of order ≤9 and 178937003 of order 10, with complete lists of indecomposables of order ≤5.

  3. Black string immersed in perfect fluid dark matter

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 4.0 of 10

Exact 4D black string in AdS with perfect fluid dark matter, metric modified by log term in α, horizons via Lambert W function, heat capacity diverges for α>0 suggesting phase transition where weak energy condition violated.
