The aim of this review is to demonstrate that there exists a coherent picture of strong interactions, based on instantons. Starting from the first principles of QCD - via the microscopic mechanism of spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking - one arrives to a quantitative description of light hadron properties, with no fitting parameters. The discussion of the importance of instanton-induced interactions in soft high-energy scattering is new.

  1. Quark orbital angular momentum as a chiral magnetic effect

    hep-ph 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0

The calculation yields a large negative orbital angular momentum L_{u-d} from chiral magnetic effects that partially cancels the positive spin contribution and reduces total J_{u-d} to match lattice QCD.

  2. The color force acting on a quark in the pion and nucleon

    hep-ph 2025-11 unverdicted novelty 5.0

In the instanton liquid model, the color force on a struck quark in the pion and nucleon is derived from twist-3 operators, related to gravitational and transversity form factors, and mapped in the transverse plane wi...

  3. CP conservation in the strong interactions

    hep-ph 2024-04 unverdicted novelty 3.0

CP conservation in QCD follows from taking the infinite volume limit prior to summing over topological sectors, shown consistent with steepest-descent contours and chiral EFT.
