We explore a ``fertile patch'' of the heterotic landscape based on a Z_6-II orbifold with SO(10) and E_6 local GUT structures. We search for models allowing for the exact MSSM spectrum. Our result is that of order 100 out of a total 3\times 10^4 inequivalent models satisfy this requirement.

Dark Monopoles, Bounds on Hidden Sectors, and Cosmological Implications
Hidden-sector magnetic monopoles with symmetry-breaking scales above roughly 100 PeV over-close the Universe unless diluted by inflation or an early matter-dominated phase.

Non-Invertible Selection Rules on Heterotic Non-Abelian Orbifolds
Non-Abelian orbifolds in heterotic string theory produce non-invertible coupling selection rules, since twisted sectors are labeled by conjugacy classes whose products contain multiple classes and yield characteristic...

Towards a Heterotic Axiverse
Generic heterotic axions are heavier than in type IIB; the Strong CP problem is typically unsolved, and a light fuzzy dark matter axion requires a no-gaugino-condensation anisotropic fibred Calabi-Yau.

Modular Flavor Symmetries and Fermion Mass Hierarchies
In modular flavor models, fermion mass hierarchies require the modulus to sit near the critical points i, i∞, or ω; the paper classifies the near-critical mass patterns for reducible 2⊕1 matter assignments.

Non-Abelian orbifolds of the SO(32) heterotic string
Three non-Abelian orbifolds of the SO(32) heterotic string now have complete massless spectra, with unbroken gauge groups U(1)^2 x SO(26), U(1) x SO(26), and SO(26), showing rank reduction from 16 to 15, 14, or 13.
