Gravitational collapse of matter trapped on a brane will produce a black hole on the brane. We discuss such black holes in the models of Randall and Sundrum where our universe is viewed as a domain wall in five dimensional anti-de Sitter space. We present evidence that a non-rotating uncharged black hole on the domain wall is described by a ``black cigar'' solution in five dimensions.

  1. Hidden-sector accretion and warped black-string seeds for high-redshift supermassive black holes

    astro-ph.CO 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

A warped 5D geometry with hidden-sector accretion produces growing Schwarzschild/Vaidya black-hole seeds on our brane via a common horizon intersection.

  2. Localized five-dimensional rotating brane-world black hole Analytically Connected to an to an AdS$_5$ boundary

    gr-qc 2025-09 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Analytic construction of a 5D rotating braneworld black hole using Janis-Newman algorithm in Hopf coordinates that induces Kerr on the brane and connects to AdS5 boundary through bulk anisotropic fluid.

  3. On regular black string spacetimes in nonlinear electrodynamics

    gr-qc 2026-03 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

No regular purely electric black strings exist in NED recovering the Maxwell limit, but regular cylindrical Bardeen and Hayward analogues are constructed with finite curvature.

  4. Wedge Holographic Complexity in Karch-Randall Braneworld

    hep-th 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

For a wedge black string with fluctuating branes, the Complexity=Action growth rate gains a constant edge-mode term while Complexity=Volume gains a fluctuation-squared correction, breaking the naive equivalence of the...

  5. Embedding Wormholes and Dyonic Black Strings in Warped Braneworlds via Local Sum Rules

    gr-qc 2026-01 reject novelty 4.0 of 10

Embedding of Ellis-Bronnikov wormhole and NED-sourced magnetic/dyonic black strings into RS braneworlds using Local Sum Rules; the dyonic q→0 limit is inconsistent as written.

  6. Entanglement Entropy and Complexity of Multicomponent Universe from Holography

    hep-th 2026-01 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

For two-component FLRW universes built from an AdS black brane plus p-brane gas, holographic entanglement entropy scales as tau early and as tau^{4/3} (dark matter) or tau^2 (exotic matter) late, while volume complexi...

  7. Investigating the interplay of the braneworld gravity and the plasma environment on the black hole shadow

    gr-qc 2025-12 unverdicted novelty 4.0 of 10

Negative tidal charge enlarges the shadow of rotating braneworld black holes while inhomogeneous plasma shrinks it and homogeneous plasma enlarges it; EHT data limits q to roughly -1.15 to 0.45 for M87* in the low-den...

  8. Wormholes from beyond

    gr-qc 2024-12 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Using the Nakas-Kanti top-down approach, the author embeds the Morris-Thorne and Molina-Neves wormholes in a regular five-dimensional anti-de Sitter bulk, so the wormhole on the brane is supported entirely by bulk fields.

  9. Holographic entanglement entropy and complexity for the cosmological braneworld model

    hep-th 2025-05 unverdicted novelty 3.0 of 10

Time-dependent holographic entanglement entropy and complexity are computed perturbatively for braneworld FLRW universes with radiation, matter, and exotic matter by using time-dependent brane positions in black brane...
