This paper revisits quantum corrections to gravity. It was shown previously by other authors that quantum field theories in curved space time provide quadratic curvature forms as quantum corrections to gravity in a conformally flat metric. Application to a spherically symmetric and static (SSS) metric shows that only the Gauss Bonnet combination (GB) yields the correct expression. Using a variational method, the author shows that the metric he obtained in 1985 as an example in a simplified case was indeed the exact solution for a SSS metric. This proves that gravity becomes repulsive at short distances by quantum corrections.

Holographic $s$- and $p$-wave superconductors from the $4D$ regularization of Einstein-Lovelock theory
Higher-order curvature corrections in 4D regularized Lovelock gravity raise the critical temperature of holographic s- and p-wave superconductors for negative coupling α, with the gap frequency also depending on the c...

Thermodynamic and Dynamical Properties of Phantom Charged Black Holes in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet Gravity
A charged black hole in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity with ModMax electrodynamics is presented, whose thermodynamics, ISCO, and scalar quasinormal modes reduce to the known 4D-EGB-Reissner-Nordstrom results with th...

Testing black hole metrics with binary black hole inspirals
Constraints on deviations from Kerr black hole metrics are derived from binary black hole inspiral waveforms modeled with effective one-body methods and analyzed via the parameterized post-Einsteinian framework.
