Non-singular black hole geometries typically come with two spacetime horizons: an (outer) event horizon and an (inner) Cauchy horizon. This nurtures the speculation that they may be subject to a mass-inflation effect which renders the Cauchy horizon unstable. We analyze the dynamics associated with spherically symmetric, regular black holes taking the full backreaction between the infalling matter and geometry into account. On this basis, we identify the crucial features taming the growth of the mass function and diminishing the curvature singularity at the Cauchy horizon. It is demonstrated explicitly that the regular black hole solutions proposed by Hayward and obtained from Asymptotic Safety satisfy these properties.

  1. Regular Vaidya solutions of effective gravitational theories

    gr-qc 2025-06 unverdicted novelty 7.0

Regular Vaidya solutions exist in effective gravitational theories that dynamically describe radiation-driven formation of regular black holes or mimickers without curvature singularities.

  2. Scalar perturbations and strong cosmic censorship in a regular ABGB-de Sitter black hole spacetime

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0

In regular ABGB-de Sitter black holes, near-extremal scalar perturbations decay fast enough (β>1/2) to violate strong cosmic censorship, and adding scalar mass can push the regularity parameter past β=1.

  3. Regular black holes with Minkowskian cores: causal structure and observational degeneracy

    gr-qc 2026-07 accept novelty 5.0

Regular black holes with Minkowskian cores constructed by gravitational decoupling produce shadows and accretion-disk images nearly indistinguishable from Kerr/Schwarzschild despite radically different interiors.

  4. Regular black hole with sub-Planckian curvature and suppressed exponential mass inflation

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0

A regular black hole metric is constructed with sub-Planckian curvature controlled by the inner horizon radius and power-law rather than exponential mass inflation near the inner horizon.

  5. Inflation driven by repulsive-like primordial black holes

    gr-qc 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Repulsive-like primordial black holes in the Swiss-cheese framework produce quasi-de Sitter expansion, enabling inflation with evaporation reheating and acting as early dark energy for certain masses and densities.

  6. Internal structure of Hayward black holes

    gr-qc 2025-11 conditional novelty 5.0

In Hayward regular black holes, a sufficiently strong scalar-field perturbation collapses the inner horizon and forms a spacelike singularity, with the horizon radius obeying a universal |p-p*|^{0.5} scaling near the ...

  7. Regular black holes with Minkowskian cores: causal structure and observational degeneracy

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 4.0

A new family of regular black holes with Minkowskian cores is built via gravitational decoupling; their shadows and thin-disk images are nearly indistinguishable from Schwarzschild/Kerr, though the weak-energy-conditi...

  8. Thermodynamic Phase Transitions and Quantum Entropy Corrections in the Simpson-Visser Regular Black Hole

    gr-qc 2025-12 reject novelty 4.0

For the Simpson-Visser regular black hole, the heat capacity diverges at a = √2 m, but the claimed quantum entropy corrections are internally inconsistent: the 1/a² term has the wrong sign and the remnant-entropy form...
